HALLUCINOGENS

HALLUCINOGENS

Hallucinogens include a variety of drugs that are defined by causing hallucinations. This diverse group of drugs will alter the user’s awareness of feelings as well as thoughts and surroundings. Some of the more common hallucinogenic drugs include LSD, Psilocybin, Peyote Mescaline, DMT, and Ayahuasca.

LSD is one of the most potent of the hallucinogenic drugs. This synthetic chemical is produced into a crystal form and then broken down with alcohol into a liquid. This highly potent liquid can be used to make individual doses of LSD known as blotter or by being dropped soaked into small squares of paper known as window panes

Psilocybin, Ayahuasca, and Peyote are all naturally occurring hallucinogens. Psilocybin is extracted from certain species of mushrooms. Ayahuasca is made from a mixture of naturally occurring plants in the Amazon which are made by combining and then cooking them into a brew over fire. The active hallucinogen in Peyote is called Mescaline which is found in a small cactus in both Mexico and the southwestern United States.
